The Substation Contemporary Art Prize Entries Open

The Substation is proud to announce that applications for The Substation Contemporary Art Prize are now open! The Substation Contemporary Art Prize is a national non-acquisitive award established to recognize and encourage innovation in contemporary art practice.

Entries are invited from artists working in all mediums including (but not limited to) painting, drawing, photography, new media, sculpture and installation. Finalists of the prize participate in a public exhibition that will inhabit the industrial exhibition spaces of The Substation. Formerly known as the Williamstown Festival Art Prize and now its second year under its new moniker, The Substation Contemporary Art Prize has a national reach aims to provide a major platform for contemporary visual artists in Australia.

Major Prize: $10,000
People’s Choice: $1,000
Submission deadline: Tuesday 21st August
Exhibition dates: 21st September – 21st October
